Arshdeep Singh is a left-arm pace bowler known for his accurate death bowling in the shortest format of the game. He plays for Punjab in the Indian domestic circuit and for the Punjab franchise in the Indian T20 League.
Arshdeep Singh has represented India at the Under-19 level and was a part of the squad for the 2018 Under-19 World Cup as well, which India went on to win. In June 2021, he was named as one of five net bowlers for India's tour of Sri Lanka. Following a few positive cases of Covid-19 in the Indian team, Singh was also added to India's main squad for their final two T20I matches on the tour.
Arshdeep Singh made his List A debut for Punjab in the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy and then went on to make his first-class debut in the following season. In November 2019, Arshdeep was also added to the Indian squad for the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
The Punjab franchise bought Arshdeep Singh in the auction for the 2019 edition of the Indian T20 League. Singh slowly grew in stature and in the 2021 season, he impressed everyone by finishing as Punjab's second-highest wicket-taker. Arshdeep became the mainstay of the franchise, and before the mega auction in 2022, he was one of the two players to get retained by Punjab.
Arshdeep repaid the faith by becoming the go-to bowler for Punjab in the death overs. He was among the best death bowlers in the 2022 season of the Indian T20 League, and his performance earned him the ticket to the national team.
