After that grueling Colombia match England manager Gareth Southgate will be happy his side advanced without too much trouble from a Sweden side that only threatened a handful of times. Most of the attacking and defending quality came from his side and Raheem Sterling could have easily added another goal with more composed finishing. Sweden had an excellent tournament but needed to find more variety in attack today.
Another strong half from a calm England side kept Sweden from advancing. Despite the pressure to score, Sweden did not adjust their tactics much in the second half and Jordan Pickford made a few saves and was active in his box.

After a quick counter down the left, the ball comes to Marcus Berg in the center. He controls and then fires past Harry Maguire but Jordan Pickford gets a hand to it sending the ball over the bar for a corner.
With England threatening again, Andreas Granqvist gets back to block a cross and a Dele Alli shot.

After a swift attack in from the right side, Jordan Pickford has to dive low to his right to block a Viktor Claesson shot from inside the box. The rebound is blocked away but Sweden could have pulled a goal back there.
After a series of crosses from the left side, play is switched to the right. Jesse Lingard chips in a cross to the back post and Dele Alli calmly heads back across past Robin Olsen and into the net!
