Shy when first approached, Babu is among the millenials we like — affable and confident in his abilities. He hails from Tamil Nadu and is one of the five players from Kanyakumari to play in Pro Kabaddi Season 5.

How did he embark on a journey from a town that lies on the Southern-most tip of the country to a team that has such a rich heritage in the sport? In his typical style, he answers, ‘self-interest.’ No one in his family of five plays the sport. His eagerness to succeed landed him a spot in a local kabaddi club where he sharpened his skills in raiding and defending. He relies on his speed to get out of tricky situations on the mat.

Babu trains hard and runs long distances to complement his kabaddi skills. In his spare time, this second-year student of B.Sc. Computer Science, does not prefer movies, but, if there’s Power Rangers on, he will definitely be glued to the television.
